July 4th means|2020 Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest
2 min readI know its Independence Day but when you love food as much as I do,you can’t help not mentioning its also the |2020 Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest Day..
Today will mark the first time in history that gamblers can legally wager on this years event.
Once again Joey Chestnut is a heavy favorite to win this year’s contest. I personally would have taken up the task of trying to defeat this 13 time world champion but my limit is 12 hot-dogs in one sitting so I have no shot in hell of defeating Joey.
The annual event is traditionally held on Brooklyn’s Coney Island, at Nathan’s famed flagship restaurant. But due to Covid-19 the 2020 edition will take place at an undisclosed dining locale, with social distancing measures in place.
For those looking to drop a few dollars down on this event, Joey Chestnut, the 13-time champion, has been installed as a -1000 favorite.
Chestnut holds the current world record for consuming the most hot dogs and buns in 10 minutes (74).
ESPN’s coverage of the competition begins at 12 p.m. on Saturday. Coverage of the women’s competition will begin at 12:20 p.m. with the the men following at 12:40 p.m. Each round lasts 10 minutes.
