NFL Week 16| Cleveland Browns (10-4) vs NY Jets (1-13)- Sun Dec 27
2 min readStop the presses we have breaking news, the NY Jets are actually on a winning streak, that’s correct you heard it here at ATBForum.
The NY Jets finally have a (1) in the win column after a 23-20 upset win over the LA Rams as a (17.5) point underdog.
Sam Darnold passed for over 207 yards a bright spot on the Jets offense but with that win the Jets could possibly have ruined their chance at the #1 pick overall in the draft as Jacksonville would likely win that tiebreaker if the both teams records remain the same based on the schedule strength in 2020.
The Browns last week took care of business versus the NY Giants and now have their sights set on first place overall as the Pitts Steelers have come crashing back to reality with their 3rd straight loss last week at the hands of the Cincinnati Bengals.
Las Vegas bookmakers have this game line set at Browns (-9.5, 46.5 o/u).
The Cleveland Browns look to stay in red hot form after winning five of their last six games. The Cleveland Browns have won four straight road games.
The New York Jets have a chance to win back-to-back games for the first time since December of last year.
The New York Jets haven’t won a home game since December 22 of last year.
Browns are 3-10 ATS in their last 13 road games and 1-6 ATS in their last 7 vs. AFC. The Jets are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games in December and 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games on field turf. The Browns are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 meetings.
I have this gut feeling the JETS will be playing more for pride and less for the win. A short week for the Browns and a nice spot for a backdoor cover. This game is sitting on a key number of (+9.5) if you happen to shop it and find a (+10) and higher I would grab it.
Prediction: Cleveland 27- 24 (Jet’s cover the number)
