2021 Super Bowl Predictions| Bucs v Chiefs
2 min readWhere did the 2020 season go? This coming weekend it’s the grand finale in The National Football League.
The day begins with what I call almost 6 hours of pregame antics which we could probably do without and the main event is set to go off at 6:30 p.m. EST.
This years combatants in Super Bowl LV are the Kansas City Chiefs who take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Kansas City, the defending champion, is currently a -3.0 favorite and the total is set 56.5.
Kansas City is clearly the best team in the NFL, and they have been the entire season. Looking over the season and strength of schedule The Bucs have beaten just two teams – the Saints and Packers – that finished the year with a winning record.
The two team met in Tampa late November the final score says 27-24. Kansas City led 17-0 in the first quarter and was up 27-10 heading into the fourth before TB made it look close.
“Super Bowl favorites are 34-19 SU and own an ATS mark of 25-25-3 (50%),
with the 1982 game having been a pick-’em point spread. However, over the
last 18 years, underdogs own a 13-6 ATS (68.4%) edge, including 9-4 ATS in
the last 13. Kansas City won as the slimmest of favorites in 2020.”
The Chiefs are in search of becoming the first team to capture B2B Lombardi Trophies since Brady and the Patriots won in both ’03 & ’04.
I keep going back to the earlier meeting this years where Tampa Bay had no pass defense and Mahomes had all day to find Tyreek Hill. If Mahomes has time to stand in and deliver to his top weapons, it’ll be a long day for the home side in this one.
Tom Brady may be the greatest of all time but that will have little or no impact in tonight’s contest.
The line is begging you to take the (+3) w/ Tampa Bay but I will lean to the Underdog and reigning Super Bowl Champion Kansas City Chiefs.
Prediction: Chiefs 35, Buccaneers 30
