Is Alabama (+180) poised to return as national champions after their defeat last year to Georgia by a score of 33–18 and handed the Bulldogs their third national championship in school history, the first since 1980?

The NFL draft has come and gone, and so have many of the players who played on that championship team.
Alabama is a well-established program, and they will have filled those gaps and voids through the recruiting system this past year.

Week 1 Selections:

Thursday, Sep. 1,2022
West Virginia at Pittsburgh, 7 p.m. ET

America’s Bookie Line:Pittsburgh (-7.0) O/U (51)
It’s back yard brawl time.Pittsburgh is coming off its best season since 1982 but they lose the services of ACC Offensive Player of the Year in quarterback Kenny Pickett.
The Mountaineers of West Virginia finished below.500 for the third consecutive season and should get a needed lift on the offence with Georgia quarterback transfer JT Daniels ready to take the helm. The offense for West Virginia isn’t the problem; it’s the holes in the defence that were not addressed over the offseason and we jump over Pittsburgh in this one.
The Pick: Pittsburgh (-7)

Notre Dame at Ohio State, 7:30 p.m.
America’s Bookie Line:Ohio State (-15.0) O/U (58.5)

The Irish are coming off their 5th consecutive 10-win season and will begin a new year without Brian Kelly. The Irish will send a first-year quarterback out in the toughest of environments, the Horseshoe, against an Ohio State team coming off a season in which they missed out on the CFP for the first time since 2018.

Ohio State quarterback C.J. Stroud is back and joins a stellar group of offensive talent in Columbus. Look for Ohio State to jump out quickly in this one. We see this as an extremely tough spot for a first-year quarterback and new head coach with the Irish to grind out a point spread cover.
The Pick: Ohio State (-15.0)
