Preview: Ohio State at Michigan
Where: Michigan Stadium, Ann Arbor, Michigan
Spread: Ohio State (-9.5) O/U 54
Ohio State has not covered a spread this large in Ann Arbor since it won 21-10 as a 10-point favorite on Nov. 21, 2009. The Buckeyes are 7-5 against the spread at Michigan since 1995.
If the line holds, this will be the fourth consecutive Ohio State-Michigan in Ann Arbor game in which the Buckeyes are favored. Ohio State won the previous three but failed to cover in two of them.
The first two games against Ohio State at the Big House under Jim Harbaugh haven’t been that close. The 2015 game was a four-point game at halftime, but the Buckeyes came out of the second half and outscored Michigan 28-3, eventually winning 42-13. The 2017 game…well, let’s just erase that season from our memories altogether.
The spread shouldn’t come as a big surprise, as Ohio State has looked dominant in pretty much every game this season. They let Penn State make a small comeback this past week due to fumbles in their own territory, but the Buckeyes haven’t shown many flaws overall this season, even with having to break in a new head coach and transfer quarterback.
Michigan was an underdog twice previously this season. Wisconsin was favored by 3.5 and won 35-14. Penn State was favored by 7.5 and won 28-21.
Ohio State has won seven consecutive games in the series against Michigan.
Prediction:>>> I believe Michigan gets out to a 10 point lead early and stays inside this number.
