NFL Who’s Hot and Who’s Not – Week 14

2 min read

BetAnySports has now listed the 12-0 Carolina Panthers as favorites to win Super Bowl 50 following New England’s unexpected loss to Philadelphia this past Sunday. The Panthers’ betting odds to run the table in the regular season at a straight-up 16-0 are listed at +310 and their odds to keep on winning right through the playoffs to an NFL title at 19-0 are set at +1020.

Carolina failed to cover as 5.5-point road favorites in Sunday’s come-from-behind 41-38 victory against New Orleans, but it still remains one of the top betting teams in the NFL this season at 9-3 against the spread. It was the first time the Panthers failed to cover in their last five games. This Sunday they will play host to Atlanta as 8.5-point home favorites.

The top betting team in the league using BetAnySports’ closing betting lines is still the Cincinnati Bengals at 10-2 SU with a 10-1-1 record ATS. They are coming off a routine 37-3 romp over Cleveland as 7.5-point road favorites. The Bengals have now covered in six of their last seven games with the total staying UNDER in five of the last six outings.

If you are looking for the hottest betting team in the NFL right now it would be the 7-5 Kansas City Chiefs. After digging themselves into an early 1-5 hole both SU and ATS, they have reeled-off six wins in a row both SU and ATS. Kansas City has averaged 34.2 points over its past five games to help take the total OVER in three of those contests.
Another hot team making a strong push towards the playoffs is the 7-5 Seattle Seahawks. Last Sunday’s 38-7 rout of Minnesota as three-point home favorites was their fifth SU win in their last six games while improving to 4-2 ATS. The total has now gone OVER in their last four games.

When it comes to going against the not so hot teams in the NFL, the Atlanta Falcons in the NFC and the Cleveland Browns in the AFC top the list. The 6-6 Falcons’ 23-19 loss to Tampa Bay in Week 13 ran their current SU losing streak to five games and they have now failed to cover in their last eight games. The total has stayed UNDER in six-straight games.

The Browns are working their way towards the top pick in the 2016 NFL Draft at 2-10 SU and with Sunday’s loss they have now failed to cover in their last six games to fall to 3-8-1 ATS on the year. The total has stayed UNDER in four of those six games.
