NY GIANTS (6-8) AT MINNESOTA (9-5)

Minnesota’s helmsman Teddy Bridgewater after tossing 335 yards and 1 TD in Week 14 against the Cardinals, came through with a career-best outing Sunday, hanging 231 yards and five total touchdowns on the Bears. Only the pathetic Saints have allowed more yards to opposing quarterbacks than the Giants, so Bridgewater carries some sneaky-good potential into Week 16.

Over the past three weeks, Peterson has not topped 86 yards and has just two scores. If you are an optimist, you will point to a pair of tough matchups (versus Seattle and Arizona) and a sprained ankle that limited his game action against the Bears in Week 15. With a cake matchup against a weak Giants defense this week, the table is set for a return to form, but you’ll want to make sure reports are positive for the strength of his ankle.

Yes, Diggs came through with a pair of touchdowns against the Bears in Week 15, but we shouldn’t get too excited about it. Those were his first scores since Week 8 — the last time they played the Bears — and he saw just four targets and finished with three receptions for 55 yards. Because the Giants have a leaky secondary and Teddy Bridgewater has been playing well lately, Diggs does carry some upside this week, but he also carries a low floor. Kyle Rudolph has been up and down lately, but the Giants provide an excellent matchup. They rank 31st against the TE position, allowing over 1,000 yards and 8 TDs to TEs already this year.

Although he managed just 245 yards against a tough Panthers defense, Manning threw four touchdowns Sunday for the second straight game. Things won’t look nearly as rosy in Week 16, though, as Odell Beckham Jr. has been suspended (pending an appeal) for the game. With Beckham, Manning will be a rock-solid passer.

Without Beckham, Manning will be more of a hide and seek quarterback against the Vikings. With Odell Beckham Jr. drawing all of the defensive attention away from him, Randle has benefitted. In fact, with scores in four of his past six outings, he has been a viable solid player in deeper routes. Of course, Beckham is suspended this week, so Randle should see an increased role, but without Beckham, he will see more defensive pressure, so we shouldn’t expect an outburst in the box score.
