NFL Who’s Hot and Who’s Not – Week 16
2 min readThe 2016 NFL regular season continues to draw to a close and there are a few teams burning a hot trail to the playoffs on the field while adding some serious money to sports bettor’s pockets at BetAnySports online sportsbook.
The New England Patriots remain the top favorites to win this year’s Super Bowl at 12-2 straight-up on the year and with three-straight covers they also have the best record in the NFL against the spread at 11-3. They already have clinched the AFC East as well as a first round bye for the playoffs and this week as heavy 16.5-point home favorites against the New York Jets they will try and cover for the fourth time in five games with a double-digit spread.
Right on their heels in the AFC as one of the hottest betting teams right now is the 9-5 (SU and ATS) Pittsburgh Steelers. After a shaky first half of the season when they were 4-5 both SU and ATS, the Steelers are on fire right now at 5-0 both SU and ATS in their last five games. They will face the 8-6 Baltimore Ravens this Sunday as 4.5-point home favorites with a chance to clinch the AFC North Division title. Pittsburgh is 4-2 ATS in six previous home games this season.
Despite a costly SU loss to Dallas on Sunday night, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are still the hottest betting team in the NFC right now. They were able to cover against the Cowboys as 6.5-point road underdogs with BetAnySports to improve to a perfect 6-0 ATS in their last six games. The Bucs are 8-6 SU on the year with a 9-5 record ATS. This Saturday, they will stay on the road as three-point underdogs against New Orleans. Tampa Bay is 6-1 ATS in seven previous road games this year and it is 8-3 ATS when closing as an underdog.
Another hot betting team in the NFC heading into Week 16 is the Chicago Bears with five-straight covers while going 1-4 SU. The 3-11 (7-7 ATS) Bears are at home this Saturday against Washington as 3.5-point underdogs with BetAnySports.
The Detroit Lions still lead the NFC North at 9-6 heading into next Monday night’s matchup against Dallas as seven-point road underdogs, but they could be a good team to go against right now. The Lions have now failed to cover in their last two games following a 7-1 run ATS in their previous eight contests.
