As the calendar turns to 2017, two old NFC North rivals clash with everything on the line as the NFC North title is up for grabs at what should be an epic atmosphere at Ford Field. Many are calling it the biggest game in Ford Field history, some are calling it the biggest non-playoff home game in Lions history. No matter what you call it, it is going to be a special night in Downtown Detroit for one of these two teams.
If the Lions lose and Washington wins they are out of the playoffs so the Lions know what is on the line against their hated division rival, and for Green Bay a team that seemed left for dead earlier this season, they have won five in a row and come into the Lions house as 3 point faves.
Both QB’s have had phenomenal years most of the way and they will be the keys in this one. The Lions defense, missing some key players at times this year, has simply played over its head and they will have a tough task trying to stop a Packers offense that has started to hum the past month plus.
This game is going to come down to a huge turnover that could swing the game one way or another and while I see this contest coming down to the bitter end like it did last year, won by Green Bay on a insane Aaron Rodgers hail mary, the Lions energy feeding off their crowd will be the difference.
Look for Matthew Stafford to have one of his best games of the year in a year where he has been MVP’ish, and for the Lions faithful to celebrate one of their teams biggest wins in years.
