As both the Celts and Hawks get ready for postseason hoops, they find themselves in a big late season game for playoff seeding and confidence heading into the playoffs. The Hawks could get as high as the 5-seed in the East, but Boston still has it’s sights on the #1 seed and finds themselves just a game back of Cleveland with four to go.
Boston’s Isaiah Thomas has been nothing short of incredible this year and has given this young Boston team, a legit shot to get back to the NBA Finals. He will have to come to play tonight as a testy Atlanta team that has played Boston tough in the past will want to protect their home floor. The bad news is Atlanta has been god awful as of late going only 2-8 in their last 10 while the Celtics have gone 7-3 in that same span.
This game will come down to whether or not the Hawks can exude some defensive pressure on the hot Celts offense as Atlanta has been giving up points in droves during this losing streak. I don’t see them being able to and with way too much on the line for Boston , the effort will be there and this might be an easy second half for the C’s as they try to stay alive for the top seed in the East.
7.4 DTM Bagels and Locks on the Celtics (BOS -2)
