NBA Playoffs Who’s Hot and Who’s Not – May 15
It is mid-May and while the best-of-seven Western Conference Finals series between the San Antonio Spurs and the Golden State Warriors got underway on Sunday with Game 1, the Cleveland Cavaliers are still waiting to find out which team they will face next in the Eastern Conference Finals. The top seed in the East is Boston and BetAnySports has listed the Celtics as 4.5-point home favorites in Monday night’s deciding Game 7 showdown against the Washington Wizards.
The hot team in that series has been whichever team is playing on its home court. Both Boston and Washington have gone a perfect 3-0 straight-up at home through the first six games with the Celtics holding the slight 4-2 edge against the spread. The total has gone OVER in four of those six games. Following two stunning losses to Chicago at home to open the playoffs, the Celtics are 8-2 ATS in their last 10 postseason games.
The Cavaliers breezed through their first two playoff series with back-to-back four-game sweeps against Indiana and Toronto while going 4-2-2 against the spread. The total went OVER BetAnySports’ closing line in six of those eight outings. The Eastern Conference Finals are set to get underway this Wednesday night with Game 1.
Golden State has the longest SU winning streak in the playoffs at nine games after getting past San Antonio 113-111 on Sunday as a 10-point favorite at home. The Warriors actually trailed by as many as 25 points in that game before closing the gap in the fourth quarter on an 18-0 run. They also pulled off four-game sweeps in their first two series against Portland and Utah, but their record ATS in the playoffs stands at 5-4. The total has gone OVER in 10 of the Spurs’ first 13 postseason contests and it has also gone OVER in six of Golden State’s first nine games in this year’s playoffs including Game 1 of this series on BetAnySports closing 209.5-point line.
Game 2 of this series is set for Tuesday night in Oakland and the early betting lines have the Warriors favored by 13 points at home with San Antonio’s leading scorer Kawhi Leonard listed as questionable with an ankle injury. The total line for this game has been set at 210 points.
