One of the biggest and best rivalries in college basketball will be renewed this Saturday when Michigan St(14) takes the short bus to Crisler Center, Ann Arbor, Michigan to face the Wolverines of Michigan in an 12:00 p.m. (ET) start ESPN. No. 14 Michigan State tries to snap a two-game losing streak and keep pace near the top of the Big Ten standings when it visits in-state rival Michigan on Saturday for a Big Ten contest.
Right now the road team is the favorite at Americasbookie Michign State (-2.5) with the total sitting at 142.5 point line.
The Spartans took the first meeting of the season between these teams at the beginning of January, winning by 18 in a game in which they shot 52.8 percent from the field. Senior guard Cassius Winston had 32 points and nine assists in the contest, and he leads the Spartans in both categories (18.5 points, 5.9 assists per game). The Wolverines’ lineup has been in flux almost all season due to injuries and a suspension, but the one constant has been center Jon Teske, who leads the team with 13.1 points and 7.5 rebounds per outing. Point guard Zavier Simpson (12.7 points, 8.2 assists) always seem to have good games against Michigan State, while forward Isaiah Livers (13.1 points, 50 percent 3-point shoting), who has played in only three conference games this season, is a game-time decision for this one.
In another big the top two teams in the Big East square off Saturday when 13th-ranked Seton Hall hosts No. 12 Villanova. The Pirates are 9-1 in league play, while the Wildcats are 7-3 following back-to-back losses entering this matchup
Later on this evening Oklahoma State travels to Ferrell Center, Waco, Texas to meet up with #1 ranked Baylor.
Baylor may be the only unbeaten team left in Big 12 play, but few opponents have given the Bears more of a scare during their school-record 19-game winning streak than the team that needed more than a month to get its first conference victory. Hoping to extend its undefeated streak to 20.
