BetAnySports Weekend Betting Preview – Dec. 2-4
2 min readThe first weekend in December is jam-packed with betting action at BetAnySports highlighted by a number of college football conference championship games that will fill in the blanks for this year’s bowl season and the College Football Playoff. The NFL season heads into Week 13 and just about every game from here on in could have a big impact on this year’s postseason picture. The NBA season enters its second month of action and there is a full slate of college basketball games on tap over the next few days. For anyone looking to expand their betting options you have weekend action in the NHL and European soccer.
The big question in college football this weekend is which four teams will earn a berth in this season’s College Football Playoff. Washington currently holds down the fourth position in the current rankings and the Huskies can probably seal a spot with a victory over No. 8 Colorado on Friday night in the Pac-12 Conference Championship. BetAnySports has listed Washington as a 7.5-point favorite for this 9 p.m. (ET) start on FOX. The total for this game has been set at 58.5.
No. 3 Clemson is looking to make a return trip to the playoff, but it first has to get by No. 23 Virginia Tech in the ACC title game. The Tigers will head into Camping World Stadium in Orlando as 10-point favorites and BetAnySports has set the total line at 58. Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. on ABC.
This season’s Big Ten Championship between No. 7 Penn State and No. 6 Wisconsin could have an impact on the final playoff field with both teams still on the outside looking in. The Badgers are favored by 2.5 points with the total set at 47.5 in this 8 p.m. start on FOX.
Most experts agree that No. 1 Alabama is a lock to remain in the playoff field regardless of what happens in Saturday’s SEC Championship against Florida, but The Tide should prevail as heavy 24-point favorites. This game is set to start at 4 p.m. on CBS and the total has been set at 41.
One of the top matchups on Sunday’s NFL slate is a 4:25 p.m. start on FOX between the 8-3 New York Giants and the 6-5 Pittsburgh Steelers at Heinz Field. BetAnySports has listed the Steelers as six-point home favorites and the betting line for the total has been set at 48. The total has stayed UNDER in the Giants’ last five road games and it has stayed UNDER in six of Pittsburgh’s last seven games overall.
