Cream raises to the top
2 min readWe have reached the Final Four in Men’s NCAA Basketball and as in my previous article I made a case for the Wisconsin possible match up against the then undefeated wildcats of Kentucky and here we are.
This coming weekend promises to deliver what every fan of has been waiting for.
We are down to three of the 4 number one seeded teams all with final four births the only exception being Villanova who flunked out early in the tournament.
For bracket player, gamblers or just those who enjoy the tournament the only thing undecided is which of these 4 teams will get to make a trip to “The Big Dance”? Which team will have a date with the big dance? I’ll tell
Game # 1
1. Kentucky vs. 1. Wisconsin – The wildcats of Kentucky got a scare in the elite 8 to the hands of the Irish of Notre Dame which was what you’d call one of those too close for comfort game.Kentucky was installed as an 11 point favorite and when the final horn sounded they came away with a 2 point win and secured their ticket to the final four, I’m a big believer and supporter of “Defense wins championships” and that’s what Kentucky brings. If you examine the wildcats closely you will see they only allow teams on average 50 points per game. Wisconsin on the other hand isn’t a team that is going to shoot the lights out anytime they take to the court. I see this game getting decided in the final 4 minutes and the Wildcats will secure their ticket to the big dance with a 67-56 win.
1. Duke vs. 7. Michigan State – Did anyone give Tom Izzo team a shot to advance this far given his track record in March? There is a saying if your a betting man don’t bet against Izzo. I hate to be the guy jumping off the wagon but I do believe father time is about to run out on the Spartans this coming weekend. The Blue Devils have a fantastic offense and possess the best big man in the NCAA in Jahil Okafor this guy is unreal in the post up and State is going to need to to defend him and that will leave plenty of chances for others to take the bull by its horns. Duke isn’t necessarily a defensive team, their offense more than makes up for it. As stated I don’t expect Izzo and his squad to bow down easily but when the dust settles the blue devils of duke will walk away with an 8 point win.. Duke 75-67
Your Championship match up will be #1 Kentucky vs #1 Duke..
