Sometimes its a tough thing to have to play a First Four game and then try to make a run in the main draw of the tourney, other times, like the year VCU went on their Final Four run, it can really be a help to play that extra game against an evenly matched team. In this case it will be the latter as the Wildcats have the kind of team, tempo, and confidence to make a mild run after their First Four win over Wake Forest.
Cinci has the advantage of being able to wait for K State, but the extra prep might not be enough as the Bearcats are a solid offensive team, but have trouble on defense and that can play right into the Wildcats hand. Cinci doesn’t make a lot of mistakes and that could keep them in this, but I just see the Wildcats as jumping out to a lead in this one and not looking back.
The key in this one is going to whether or not the Bearcats can establish and impose their will early cause Kansas State can blitz you on both ends and truly take you out of your game.
Look for this to be a little herky-jerky at the start, but for K State to come out with more confidence after their First Four win and with all the answers to the tough Bearcats offense. The Wildcats could be VCU-esque and go on a mild tourney run after they win this one so be aware of the Cats!
