The B1G tourney kicks off for a rare time from the nation’s capital on Wednesday and begins with two teams searching for answers and even if they are lucky enough to win, get to face a hungry and desperate Michigan State team in the second round. Both these squads have had rough years and weren’t expected to do a ton during the regular season, but both expected to be better than they have been with a combined 26 regular season wins.

Penn State did have some feeling that they could have a decent year and be a middle of the pack B1G team, but some late season losses have hurt those chances. Now they get a renewed chance to make some noise in the tourney and extend their season.

Nebraska has had a couple nice moments this year and has hung in at times against teams like Michigan back in January and Wisconsin in early February, but for the most part have played a very low level of basketball when it mattered most.

I see Penn State has having a lot more than a two point upper hand in this one and Nebraska just got embarrassed at home in their final regular season game against Michigan last Sunday. Penn State has been playing a little better and I feel this game might not even be close even with the neutral court coming into play. Look for the Nittany Lions for one day to look like a solid B1G team.
