Before New Year’s Rockin’ Eve, we get rockin’ with the second CFP game pitting a team that almost won it all last year in Clemson against a team that almost missed the playoff if not for a double OT, stolen to many, win against Michigan. This is going to simply be a hell of a football game featuring some of the most dynamic players in all of college football.
The Buckeye’s boast a QB who can do it all in J.T Barrett and a defense that can cause opposing offenses tons of problems when playing at their best. The Tigers have the best player on the field in QB Deshaun Watson and return many key players from a team that was on the precipice of a title last year before falling late to the indestructible Alabama. So you know motivation will be at a fever pitch for Dabo Sweeney and his Tigers.
This game is going to come down to which opposing defense can slow down either of these offenses that can literally score in bunches. I think the Bucks have the better overall D, but Clemson has the more athletic unit and that is going to end up being huge factor in this one, especially late when a huge turnover can win this game.
Look for this to be as back and forth a game as you could hope for in a Playoff game, but for Watson and Clemson to have just enough to get past Ohio State and play for a national title for the second year in a row.
