The De-facto Big 12 title game should be a rip roarin’ time from Norman, Oklahoma and also a case study in what could have been if the referees didn’t absolutely job OK State earlier this year in a game vs. Central Michigan. If the right call had been made at the end of that game, not giving CMU an untimed down that led to a game winning Hail Mary, the Cowboys would likely be playing for a spot in the CFP.
Well, the game result wasn’t reversed, and instead of playing for the playoff, Bedlam will still be a game with a ton on the line for both teams.
The Sooners have had a truly up and down season, but it has been anything but down as of late as they are simply rolling teams. The Cowboys have had a heck of a second half of the season as well and can score with the best of them and our one of the highest scoring teams in all of the FBS.
This will be a tough spot for the Cowboys to win outright on the road, but they are one of the few teams in the country that can match Oklahoma’s offense point for point. This is going to be a ton of fun and even though the Sooners have one of the best QB’s in the land in Baker Mayfield and one of the best RB’s as well in Samaje Perine, the Cowboys have a ton of talent on offense as well and have a QB in Mason Rudolph “The Red Nosed Reindeer”, that can flat out ball as well.
This is going to be another “team with the ball last wins”, type of ball game and I think we are going to go way over the total of 76 in this one. With both teams out of the playoff chase, it is simply going to come down to what squad wants the Big 12 outright title more and while I see the Sooners winning this game in the end, 11 is simply too many points for a Cowboys offense that is unbelievably potent.
