One of the three weekend matchups involving two top 10 teams lifts off from Huskies Stadium in Seattle on Friday night and it is going to be a doozy. Both these teams have their sights set on a Pac 12 title and the Huskies are looking for their best season in years. They simply have to stem the tide against a Stanford team that has beaten them seven of the past eight times they have played including 31-14 last season in Palo Alto.

This game won’t eliminate one of these teams from the Pac 12 North race, but it will go a long way in determining which team has a greater chance and which one will need to start praying after Friday night. The atmosphere will be electric and both these teams have looked great at times this year, but the Huskies have had their issues at times.

Washington played a super soft non-conference schedule with the likes of Rutgers, Idaho, and Portland State and almost lost to Arizona last week on the road, surviving in overtime. The Cardinal are much more battle tested beating Kansas State, USC in a rout, and UCLA last week on the road. Stanford also has do-everything Heisman contender Christian McCaffrey, who will run rough shed all day and night even with the Huskies D that has been super solid this year, tied for the national lead with 13 takeaways.

The Cardinal will just be tough match with their balanced offensive attack and athletic defense and this game might get away from Washington and the hyped up crowd in the first half. The Cardinal will get a monster win on the road and make an early claim for the Pac 12 North title and stay in the College Football playoff race.
