Nothing like having one of the best hurlers in baseball on the mound when you need a big win to get back on track after a horrid start to the season. The Giants are wallowing after a 3-6 start, but get Madison Bumgarner who lost his first decision , but also blasted two home runs, becoming the first MLB pitcher ever to hit two dingers on opening day. This is a huge start for Mad Bum for many reasons, but the main one is the Giants simply need a win in the worst way.

I don’t mind laying the -$162 in this situation cause you get so much value with Bumgarner and Gray is carrying a 5.79 ERA so I feel the Giants offense will be able to get to him. Also it makes me feel good that the Rockies as a team have struggled mightily in the past five years at AT&T Park. When a team early in a season needs a big win to get back on track, having their best pitcher on the mound always seems to relax the troops and give them a great shot to at least taste victory in that one game.

Look for the Giants to strike early and often in this one and work over Gray from the start. I see Bumgarner having a sterling start and giving the Giants the type of confidence they have been lacking early this season, both offensively and defensively. Shortstop Brandon Crawford will continue his hot start this early season and look for 2B Joe Panik to have a solid game as well. I have no problem telling you to seriously consider taking the Giants run line -1.5 runs as well to get even more value with Mad Bum pitching . This should be a fun game to back the G-Men in as Bumgarner is going to show all on the West Coast and whoever else stays up , that he is still one of the top four pitchers in all of baseball.

7.4 DTM Bagels and Locks on the Giants (SFG -162) (1.5 runs as well)
