Top reason why people go bust in sports wagering is not their inability to pick winners.  In fact there is a gambling phenomenon that usually extends winning streaks while shortening losing streaks!  The reality is that we want to extend those warm and fuzzy feelings so we will make safer wagers to extend the good times facing a lot of chalk.  Opposite of this is when we are mired in those losing streaks.  Instead of remaining calm, the chase is on trying to not only get back to even but obtain more due to the time invested.  Risky ventures go the wrong way and suddenly you are on the sideline.  This is what we faced when the Silicon Beast blew a fuse.

The Raptors got crushed and the wager put us in the danger zone.  We had stated that after a loss of five units that we would be unwilling to wager any more money on it.  Testing out new theories to see if they are viable is one thing but to pour good money onto bad is another.  Also, there is a temptation to pour it on to recoup this investment.  Rationals can be forged but it all leads to one thing.  Unnecessary risk to get money back.  Instead, we adjust our unit sizing and work our way back hopefully with the next project.
