We are slowing approaching May 1st when most of the horse worlds would have been focused on the Kentucky Derby but that has been pushed back to Mid September.

Racing continues amongst the covid-19 pandemic and these tracks seem to have so what mastered the social distancing orders which continues to allow them to race.
Gulfstream Park, Tampa Bay Downs, Oaklawn Park, Fonner Park, Will Rogers Downs, Los Alamitos and Remington Park continue to race and within the next few weeks we may see the additional tracks suck as Churchill and Santa Anita take to the race course without the addition of “fans in the stands”

Ontario racing is still on the side lines as the emergency timetable added an extra 28 days to our “time out” and hopefully we should have some better information to report come early may 2020 if the health minister grants the federal and provincial gov’t some reduced restrictions on group gatherings.

For those in the harness game we can report that the NACUP has been postponed to a later day and that comes on the heals of last weeks announcement that the Queen’s Plate has also been postponed.

For Canadians these are 2 marque races on the calendar which currently have ” no make up date” and as of today the Mohawk Million is still a go.

If any sport is going to get back at it horse racing will be the one since it’s proven that it can succeed and continue to drive income if protocols are followed.
