Following Sunday night’s results, the favorites went 6-2 straight-up with a 5-3 record against the spread. The total was evenly split 4-4 through the first eight games.

Sunday’s upset special was Indiana’s stunning 98-80 romp over No. 4 Cleveland as a 7.5-point underdog on the road. The total stayed UNDER the 212-point line in that game. The Cavaliers have been opened as eight-point home favorites for Wednesday’s Game 2 and the total line for that game is set at 209 points.
The only other favorite that failed to cover in its series opener was the Houston Rockets as the top seed in the West. They got past Minnesota 104-101 on Sunday but came nowhere close to covering closing spread of 11.5 points at home. The total in that game stayed UNDER 215.5 points. This Western Conference clash resumes on Wednesday with Houston opened as a 10-point favorite at home. The total this time around has been set at 212.5 points.
Give Milwaukee credit for taking Sunday’s series opener against Boston to overtime as the No. 7 seed in the Eastern Conference. After getting outscored 14-8 in the extra stanza, the Bucks failed to cover in a 113-107 loss as four-point road underdogs. The total went well OVER the closing 200-point line. This series resumes on Tuesday in Boston with the Celtics favored by three points and the total line dropped to 197.5 points.
Philadelphia beat Miami by 27 points in Game 1 as a 5.5-point favorite at home in Saturday’s opener and it is listed as a seven-point favorite for Game 2 on Monday night. Golden State made short work of San Antonio in Saturday’s 113-92 romp as an eight-point favorite at home.
The Warriors head into Monday night’s Game 2 as 10-point home favorites with the total set at 206.
