NBA Who is Hot and Who Is Not Weekly Betting Update- April 9
3 min readHeading into the final few days of the NBA regular season, the playoff picture in both the Eastern and Western Conference continues to come into focus. Toronto is the top seed in the East followed by Boston and over in the West, Houston is No. 1 followed by Golden State.
Philadelphia is battling Cleveland for the third seed in the East while Portland is fighting off Utah for the No. 3 seed out West. After that, the picture remains rather cloudy with quite a bit to be decided between now and Wednesday night.
When it comes to betting on the games with BetAnySports, the longest winning streak against the spread belongs to the New Orleans Pelicans at three. This is part of a 3-4 record (SU and ATS) in their last seven games that has the Pelicans fighting for their playoff life in the West. They will close out their regular season with Monday’s road game against the Los Angeles Clippers followed by Wednesday’s home game against San Antonio.
Philadelphia owns the longest SU winning streak in the league at 14 games following Sunday’s 109-97 victory at home against Dallas, but it failed to cover as a heavy 13-point favorite with BetAnySports. The Sixers also failed to cover in last Friday’s 132-130 victory against Cleveland as 3.5-point home favorites. This ended a string of 10-straight covers during this extended winning streak. If Philly can get past Atlanta on the road on Tuesday and Milwaukee at home on Wednesday night, it will start the playoffs as the No. 3 seed in the East.

Denver is the only team still in playoff contention that is listed outside the top eight teams in the West. The Nuggets have helped their cause with a SU five-game winning streak, but they have only covered in three of the five victories. They will host Portland on Monday night as 4.5-point favorites with BetAnySports ahead of Wednesday’s road game against Minnesota.
The Rockets will end the regular season with the best record in the league regardless of what happens over the next three days, but they have lost two of their last four games SU after losing just once over the span of their previous 29 games. With Saturday’s 108-102 loss to Oklahoma City as a five-point home favorite, Houston is 1-4 ATS in its last five games. It will be on the road against the Los Angeles Lakers and the Sacramento Kings in its last two regular season games.
