NBA Who’s Hot and Who’s Not – Jan 30

The NBA regular season closes out the month of January with both Cleveland in the East and Golden State in the West at the top of the standings in their respective conferences, but both of these powers have a losing record against the spread.

The defending champion Cavaliers have been brutal for bettors in 2017 with just three covers ATS in their last 14 games since a Jan. 2 SU win against New Orleans. The total stayed UNDER 217.5 points at BetAnySports in Sunday’s 107-91 victory against Oklahoma City as an eight-point home favorite after going OVER in Cleveland’s previous five games. It is 32-14 SU overall with a 19-25-2 record ATS. The Cavaliers return to action on Monday night as 4.5-point road favorites against Dallas.

The Warriors (41-7 SU) failed to cover in Sunday’s tight 113-111 victory on the road against Portland as six-point favorites at BetAnySports, but they have gone a respectable 7-2 ATS in their last nine games as part of an overall record of 23-24-1 ATS. Next up is a home game against Charlotte on Feb. 1. Golden State is 21-3 SU at home this season with a 13-11 record ATS.

If you are looking for a hot NBA betting team heading into this week’s action, you might want to take a closer look at the Washington Wizards. They have gotten red hot in the dead of winter with a SU 8-2 record over their last 10 games, but more importantly for bettors, they have now covered in their last nine games following Sunday’s 107-94 road victory against New Orleans as slight one-point favorites. The Wizards have improved to 27-20 SU and 28-19 ATS. They will be back in action on Tuesday night at home against the New York Knicks, who have just two SU wins in their last six games.

Another hot betting team in the East right now has been the Miami Heat with seven covers in a row as part of a SU seven-game winning streak. They knocked off Detroit 116-103 on Saturday as three-point home underdogs and this Monday they will play host to the Brooklyn Nets as nine-point favorites with BetAnySports.

The Sacramento Kings are 19-28 SU and sitting in 10th place in the Western Conference standings, but they have been a profitable betting team lately with five-straight covers as part of a SU 3-2 mark in their last five games. They will be on the road against Philadelphia on Monday night as two-point favorites.
