NFL Who’s Hot and Who’s Not – Week 8

2 min read

The 2016 NFL regular season is seven weeks old and all 32 teams now have at least one straight-up loss on their record. Minnesota was the last to fall with this past Sunday’s 21-10 loss at Philadelphia as a three-point favorite with BetAnySports. The Vikings have still provided a great return for sports bettors at 5-1 against the spread, but the NFL team at the top of the list heading into Week 8 has been the Dallas Cowboys at 5-1 SU with a 5-0-1 record ATS.

The Cowboys are coming off a bye week and this Sunday night they will play host to Philadelphia as 4.5-point favorites. The total line for this crucial NFC East showdown has been set at 43.5 points. The Eagles now stand at 4-2 on the year both SU and ATS.

The top betting team in the AFC has been the New England Patriots following their highly profitable 6-1 start both SU and ATS. With quarterback Tom Brady out of the lineup for the first four weeks they went 3-1 (SU and ATS) and in his return he has led them to comfortable victories over Cleveland, Cincinnati and Pittsburgh in a tear through the AFC North. This week New England goes on the road looking to avenge its only its only loss of the season as a 6.5-point favorite in a rematch against AFC East rival Buffalo.

Denver is off to a solid 5-2 start both SU and ATS following this past Monday night’s 27-9 romp against Houston as an 8.5-point home favorite. The Broncos will have a chance to avenge one of their previous losses this year when they play host to San Diego this Sunday as six-point favorites. The Chargers won that first meeting 21-13 just two weeks ago as three-point home underdogs and while their SU record is still below .500 on the year at 3-4, they are also 5-2 ATS.

If you are looking for a few teams to go against at the other end of the spectrum in the NFL, you have Chicago (1-6 SU and ATS), Carolina (1-5 SU and ATS) and San Francisco (1-6 SU and ATS). The Bears host Minnesota on Monday night as five-point underdogs. The Panthers return from a bye to face 3-3-1 Arizona as 2.5-point home favorites with BetAnySports and the 49ers have a much needed week off.
