John Gibson stopped all 36 shots he faced for his 2nd shutout of the year and his 14th of his career. He is now 25-21 with a 2.46 GAA and a .927 save percentage on the year. Gibson is slated to get the start on Thursday night against the Predators, so for this one, it will be Ryan Miller and he has gone 8-11 with a 2.52 GAA and a .925 save percentage on the year, including 4-9 with a 2.75 GAA and a .919 save percentage on the road. In his career, he has gone 163-180 with a 2.68 GAA on the road and 30-54 with a 2.94 GAA against the Central Division, while against the Stars he has gone 6-10 with a 3.08 GAA.
The Ducks have not been all that great on offense so far this year as they come in ranked 21st in the league in scoring at 2.78 gpg, while also ranking 28th in shots taken (30.2 spg) and 23rd in power play conversions, converting on 18.4% of their chances. At the defensive end of the ice, they have been solid as they come in ranked 6th goals allowed, giving up 2.63 gpg, while also ranking 27th in shots allowed (33.9 spg) and 4th in penalty kill, allowing teams to convert on 16.8% of their chances.
The Stars may look better on paper than the Ducks, but don’t be fooled. They have not played all that well lately and frankly, they are struggling to find an offensive rhythm.
You can bet on this; the Stars need this game and they will do everything it takes to get this one tonight. The Ducks will be ready and eager to get it on but don’t go to sleep on Dallas. The home crowd will be pumped and the Stars will be pumped. The Stars just might find a way out of their funk tonight and make it a point to find the net.
Look for a good one, look for a battle and be sure to get your wagers in early at the sportsbook. It will be worth your time.
Prediction: Stars 4 Ducks 3
