Norman & OBJ | My 2 Cents
3 min readWe wanted to put in our 2 cents on the Odell Beckham Jr. situation. We watched the game in a bar without voice so we didn’t get the full flavor of what happened and have been using sound bites and reading stuff on the internet in order to form this opinion. We are also a Giants fan and love the guy and maybe our opinion might be little different if we were talking about Terrell Owens or LeSean Jackass or any other “hotdog” receiver.
First of all OBJ is one of the only guys on the Giants that seems to care. There is one other guy Eric Flowers who is yelling at his lazy teammates on the side lines and is playing with a sprained ankle. OBJ is the same way. Not only is the guy talented but he works hard and has that “inner desire” to be great and make his teammates better. Lawrence Taylor was this way, so was Michael Jordan. It’s a rare combination when a player has talent AND desire, you usually get one or the other. The strange thing about the Giants is that they have the rookies leading the team in the locker room, that care about being winners as opposed some of the guys on the team that are just collecting paychecks.
That leads us to our next point, the suspension for some of the dirty stuff going on Sunday between Norman and OBJ. Remember when your parents told you that 2 wrongs don’t make a right? Well in this case 2 wrongs “DO” make a right. Norman took out a baseball bat before the game and swinging it and pointing it at OBJ. He was calling him a little bitch as well. He was also just as guilty with dirty play as well; he even has kneed OBJ in the head when he was lying on the ground at one point. Where I come from I learned that you always stand your ground and that is what Beckham was doing, he wasn’t going to take any shit from that thug of a defensive back. He stood his ground like man and it rubbed off on his pathetic teammates and it showed with their 28 point comeback. The Panthers wanted a street fight and you don’t come to Jersey for that. It is sad however that the toughest guy on your team is a wide receiver.
When I was watching the game I was saying to a few guys at the bar, that I was proud of him for punching Norman in the Chops at one time after Norman continued with the dirty stuff on him. Norman started it, and OBJ stood his ground like a man, and in my book those are the type of guys I want on my team, and are the types of teams and players I like to bet on at America’s Bookie. They are the type of people that I like to spend time with in life, not bitches that like to take it in the ass and won’t fight back.
