Ronaldo Souza out of UFC 249 after testing positive for coronavirus

According to sources the UFC is looking to get back at it on May 9th at a location yet to be determined unless the current government shutdown gets the show tossed out again.

Dana White stated last week when ESPN forced him to stand down and postpone UFC 249 that was scheduled for April 18, ‘Fight Island’s infranstructure is being built, but it’s unclear if that venue will be ready for this May 9 date. Therefore, we can expect the location of the possible May 9th event to be disclosed some time next week.

Could the event take place at a location in Florida?

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis sent out a press release Monday that added several special exceptions to ‘essential businesses’. One of the exceptions was some sporting events, including WWE, which would seemingly pave the way for the UFC as well.

Some of the key match-ups and players have yet to sign contracts for this event but if the show were to go ahead these are the potential match-ups and odds for the May 9th event.
