Sweet 16 – Weekend Betting Preview

The final 16 teams in the men’s NCAA Tournament continue their quest for a region title and a spot in this season’s Final Four in the Sweet 16 Round on Thursday and Friday. The four matchups in the Elite 8 are on tap for Saturday and Sunday.

Turning to basketball at the pro level, NBA TV features a doubleheader of action this Friday night with two interconference matchups between four teams fighting for position in the upcoming playoffs. On the East Coast in a 7 p.m. tip from the Verizon Center, the Washington Wizards will play host to the Denver Nuggets. The Wizards are in sixth place in the East and Denver is a game and half out of the final playoff spot in the West.

Later Friday in a 10 p.m. tip in Portland, the Trail Blazers will look to quickly get back to their winning ways against Boston after their recent 13-game winning streak came to an end in a loss to Houston. The red-hot Rockets will be back in action on Saturday at home against New Orleans in the featured matchup on NBA TV at 8 p.m. Their current SU winning streak stands at six games heading into Thursday’s home game against Detroit as part of a 23-1 record over their last 24 games.
