We technically call this week #2 of the College football season but it just doesn’t feel like week 2 or does it.
Thursday night’s match-up will pit UAB v Miami at Hard Rock Stadium, Miami Gardens, Florida.
The Hurricanes of Miami finished the 2019 season 6-7 while the UAB Blazers went 9-5 last season, losing its final two games, including a 49-6 blowout to Florida Atlantic in the Conference USA championship game.
UAB, which has won 19 straight home games, was just 3-5 away from Birmingham last year. Miami went 4-2 at home last year.
UAB averaged 23.1 points in 2019, ranking them 102nd overall. They limited opponents to 21.6 points, good for 28th in the FBS.
Miami averaged 25.9 points in 2019, ranking them 90th overall. They held opponents to 20.2 points, placing them 23rd in the FBS. The Hurricanes received a few votes but did not make it into the AP Top 25. They were selected to finish 6th in the 15 team ACC in the preseason poll.
