It’s Monday and with that said let’s take a look at the Monday Night Football match-up between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Cincinnati Bengals.
Las Vegas Odds: Pittsburgh (-13) O/U (40.5)
This game opened up earlier in the week as Pittsburgh (-11.5) O/U (41.5) and quickly jumped up to (-13) at some books and even as high as a (-14.5) at William Hill. The last time these teams met Pittsburgh won 36-10, and that was when this team had Joe Burrow under center calling plays and if you were to ask me who the quarterback for the Bengals is as of today,I honestly couldn’t even tell you.
If they really needed any motivation in this game The Steelers are on a two-game losing streak and can feel the heat from The Cleveland Browns sitting just two games back of them in the AFC North.
The odds are stacked against the Bengals. Cincinnati are 1-4 against the spread in their last five games.Cincinnati are 0-5 straight up in their last five games.Cincinnati are 0-7 straight up in their last seven games when playing at home against Pittsburgh.Cincinnati are 1-8 straight up in their last nine games this season.
The Steelers on the other hand.Pittsburgh are 11-2 straight up in their last 13 games. Pittsburgh are 5-1 straight up in their last six games on the road.
Pittsburgh are 6-2 against the spread in their last eight games against an opponent in the AFC.
My prediction here, this one gets ugly right from the get go. The Cincinnati offense hasn’t scored more than 10 points in the past three games and I can’t see their defense putting up any today. The Steelers are 16th in the league in passing offense with 246.5 yards per game on the season and 31st in rushing with 89.1 yards per game. Pittsburgh is 12th in the league in scoring offense with 26.8 points per contest and 1st in scoring defense as they allow only 18.2 points per game.
I can’t bring myself into taking the points on a Cincinnati team that got crushed boy the Cowboys last week by (23pts).
Prediction: Pittsburgh Steelers -13
